Dedicated dental suite

Your pet can have dental diseases and problems just like us. Many of these issues can be avoided by bringing your pet to visit us for regular check ups and encouraging the use of dental cleaning products as part of your pet’s regular preventative care plan.

If problems are left untreated, dental disease can not only be painful but it can also lead to loss of appetite and more serious systemic issues may then threaten your pets health before symptoms become noticeable.

If one of our team has recommended dental treatment for your pet it is important to act on this advice to prevent the condition getting worse.

Please note that until we have examined your pet’s mouth under anaesthetic, we cannot predict the extent of dental disease or the time to carry out the work needed.

If surgery is recommended, please talk with our Reception team who will arrange a dental procedure at your convenience.

Pre and post operative Care

Prior to day of surgery, you will be sent pre-operative notes by email. This will explain what procedure is being carried out, the estimated cost and the necessary information relating to the care of your pet before they arrive at the practice.

Prior to the operation, your pet will receive a thorough physical examination to identify any medical conditions that might endanger your pet’s health. We recommend that you agree to pre-anesthetic blood testing. These tests not only give us a more complete picture of your pet’s health but also allows us to tailor the anesthetic regime for your pet.

Following surgery, your pet is closely monitored and kept warm and comfortable by our team of experienced nurses for a safe recovery. The Inpatient nurse will contact you after your pet has fully recovered from the anesthetic and will arrange a discharge appointment later that day and at your convenience. You will be provided with detailed information on how to administer any medication and the proper aftercare following surgery like spays and neuters.
